Our Process

Owning a home has always been a Canadian dream and we wish to keep that alive for all generations. But renting a home just isn't the same as ownership, at Lane One Homes we continue to innovate new ways of "affordable ownership" options.

We are a group of professionals with families young and old who are wondering what the future holds for Canadian housing options. We wanted to join together to create options for other Canadian families to help navigate their futures.

Understanding the process

Our homes are built using structural grade steel which allows precision, longevity, strength, fire and rodent resistance and low maintenance. With this in mind our homes are difficult to modify which is why we spend so much time in the initial design and construction phases to ensure the product is designed to last a lifetime!

These homes DO NOT come with land, you need to have access or availability to position these on a particular property. If you require assistance at any point locating property or navigating municipal government bylaws and permits, we are happy to help!

When you purchase a building from Lane One Homes, it comes complete with appliances and all of the finishings you need to move in right away, once installed on location. Our professional sales team will walk you through the process and answer any of your questions.

You need to know where the building is going to be placed (backyard, acreage, laneway, etc), how is it getting there (crane, truck, helicopter, etc), what does your site look like (foundation, water, electricity), are you zoned properly, setbacks or require city or municipal permits?

We can help you navigate this and have additional services if you would like us to completely handle from start to finish. Our services include transportation to site along with preparation to make sure the building is positioned and placed correctly. Navigating municipal permits and zoning on your behalf, a complete start to finish process for you.

Steel is the most recycled material on the planet. At the end of its life-cycle, steel can be 100% recycled.

CNC Precision Construction

Human error is almost entirely mitigated from our process, our structures are printed and installed within a dimensional tolerance of only 0.5mm (1/8 inch). Our structures will not twist, warp, split, bow, or shrink and are perfectly straight, square and plum every time.


Steel is a noncombustible material and will not contribute to the spread of a fire. This generates a significant reduction in fire risk to occupants, firefighters, and residents. This can also translate into significant insurance savings for builders and homeowners.
